Flower Care and Maintenance
We want you to enjoy your blooms for as long as possible, and there are a few simple things you can do, to extend the vase life of your flowers.
Wrapped Bouquets
Unwrap them as soon as possible, as the wrapping is only there to protect them in transit.
This will allow airflow to all parts of the flowers.Snip the end of the stems with clean, sharp scissors, so as not to crush the stems, as this allows them to drink better.
Cut the stems at a 45-degree angle so that there is the most surface area for the flowers to drink from and so that the stems do not sit flat on the bottom of the vase and restrict the water flow.
Remove any foliage that will sit below the water line. These leaves will just dirty the water faster.
We will remove many of the leaves before placing them in a water bag, so you just need to remove any additional ones falling below the water line.
Place the flowers and foliage into water (we recommend approximately 2/3 of the vase full). Flowers also drink water through their stems, so it’s important to maximise how much they can drink.
Keep your flowers cool. We keep ours in a cool room or air-conditioned shop and yours will be best in an air-conditioned room or at least a room without full sunlight.
Every flower has its own unique qualities, which include its vase life.
Each bouquet will contain flowers and foliage of different vase life.
It’s very normal to see some flowers die before others, so simply remove those from your arrangement and allow the others to live on.
